i think they've had a couple hardtop concepts running around the car shows, which would show more and more intend to make it, i would think. and they have to know the demand is there considering the miata has sold like crazy style (as roadsters go) for the past decade or so. i bet it will come here.

I don't think we'll see a Miata Coupe for this generation of Miata. Maybe for the next one but I don't think it'd sell well. Most of the appeal of the Miata is that its a convertible. If it weren't not many people would buy it unless it was significantly faster. Also you've gotta be thinking about the upcoming Mazdaspeed 3, which will be filling the performance offering from Mazda for around $20K and of course the RX-8 comes in at the mid to upper 20's.
With the Cosworth thing I'm interested in seeing what Ford does with it because supposedly SVT is going away for a few years and coming back completely revamped. Maybe they'll leave room for an STi/Evo fighter awd turbo Focus (which is what I hope).

Well, some rich (Insert perferred word here) from Columbous bought the car for 20k over invoice. Also stated that noone is to drive it. Understandable, but made my otherwise great weekend suck for about an hour. Maybe we could hijack the delivary truck on it's way to the dealership?
Anyhow, the guy even said that he didnt' want a big deal made out of the arrival of the car. The folks at the dealership are still contemplating this request. If anything fun goes on, I'll let you know. Personally, I'm so sour that I don't even want to see the rich prick that bought it.
