In my experience only about 1 in 3 are bad, no worries. Big Grin

And as far as police go, I was referring to JMUPD. I have a contact I just need to follow up on.

- Chris - 02-26-2004

We are def. going to have a JMU police officer at the show. I am in the process now of getting parking and events and conf. to agree to the pocket bike demo (from a liability standpoint). CAPRA, capital area pocket bike racing assocation, has done a parking lot demo before and brings their own liability for their riders. Having a JMU police officer is a HUGE plus to building our club's reputation and trusting us to have a safe event (even with pocket bikes racing a closed course in the lot).

- DierwulfBL - 02-26-2004

yea having JMUPD would be okay cause theyre definitely not really out there to get people in trouble, they definitely like to give you the benefit of every doubt even when basically caught red handed doing bad things :-D HPD dont seem as lenient. I definitely wont be the first person with a "straight through exhaust" to leave the parking lot thatll be for sure though. But yea, i have a real good friend thats a cop and he said to keep that law code in my car and tell the officer that the muffler isnt straight through and that its just for show and performs just like a normal muffler.......he said they have no way of proving you wrong really on the spot, seeing how when you shine a light down in my muffler all the black deposits inside eat the light right up, so i keep a printed copy of that law incase they try to get me hehe, havent been pulled over yet but im anxious to see if my load of BS works.

I too think it's a good idea to invite the jmupd, but i still don't like a lot of cops...

 RJ..... i'm fucking suprised...
i could make a phone call or two!

Word, BB + side pipes = hotness.

Sorry I stopped ya and asked for a ride this morning mike. Maybe if you hadnt stopped the cop wouldnt have been there at the same time as you. Either way, HPD sucks big fat monkey wang.

- Mike - 02-26-2004

So did you just volunteer to pay the court fees?

- RedNight351 - 02-26-2004

you have to be carefull

basicly any muffler that wasnt stock on the car is illegal

§ 46.2-1049. Exhaust system in good working order.

No person shall drive and no owner of a motor vehicle shall permit or allow the operation of any vehicle on a highway unless it is equipped with an exhaust system of a type installed as standard factory equipment, or comparable to that designed for use on the particular vehicle as standard factory equipment, in good working order and in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual noise. An exhaust system shall not be deemed to prevent excessive or unusual noise if it permits the escape of noise in excess of that permitted by the standard factory equipment exhaust system of private passenger motor vehicles or trucks of standard make.

The term "exhaust system," as used in this section, means all the parts of a motor vehicle through which the exhaust passes after leaving the engine block.

Chambered pipes are not an effective muffling device to prevent excessive or unusual noise.

(Code 1950, § 46-305; 1952, c. 455; 1956, c. 651; 1958, c. 541, § 46.1-301; 1960, c. 120; 1970, c. 266; 1972, c. 66; 1989, c. 727.)

I am always pulled over for my exhaust, dual flow master 40 series, it is quite loud but i never got a ticket (knock on wood), some cops just have nothing better to do

Also not to be all domestic or anythign but dont think just imports are being pulled over..mustang here

if you need me to, I have several contacts in the JMUPD. I'd be glad to arrange for some extra patrols. I did talk to the sergeant tonight at work about it. He said it would be doubtful that we could get an officer to just come and sit in the lot, however they could definitely increase the number of patrols around the lot that day. Let me know if I need to follow up.

On a side note, I can all but guarantee that the spouse of one of the JMUPD will be at the show (fellow supra fanatic of mine, maybe he'll bring his stealth RT and VR-4 too).

Is it a light blue/green vr-4 in great shape? I've seen that one...

Negative. The VR-4 is maroon, the RT is bright red, and the Supra is black. I have seen the teal one though, and will try to get him out to the show as well.

- ScottyB - 02-27-2004

ive seen that black supra once or twice. had to change my drawers each time i saw it Confusedhock:

- Kaan - 02-28-2004

she got rid of that greenish 3000GT i think... and got another one with less miles... her son and daughter both have VR4 galants! the supra is all TRD with an extra 6 year warranty... which they used when both the turbos went out on it! but that was two years ago.

Heh, Wayne has been through at least 2 supras since that red one bro Smile . Currently driving a Black TT automatic with single turbo upgrade, same suspension as mine (cept I have TRD sways), big ol FMIC, and all the standard flow mods. It is sick fast once the bastard spools up.

- Mike - 02-29-2004

supra and automatic shouldn't be uttered in the same sentence.
