As far as I know, it's a carry over from boat trailers that see a lot of water in the bearings and also easy insurance to avoid replacing bearings. The worst thing for bearings is sitting still and that's what trailers do a lot of.

No idea. It seems like even the "American-made" trailers use cheap Chinesium parts that are made out of re-stamped rust that used to be a 1979 Suburban or something.

This doesn't make sense. A trailer with 15" wheels is no different than a Miata with 15" wheels.

This doesn't make sense. A trailer with 15" wheels is no different than a Miata with 15" wheels.

From a tire perspective (my information came from Phil or PTS), trailer tires a do not have the same speed rating as passenger tires (there are a few that do).  

As far as hubs go, my guess is cheap parts with more load being placed on them and not having that load spread out (axles not as far apart as compared to other vehicles)

A pain in the ass to deal with. From "I have a title" to "I have certificate of origin".... anyway. Guess I'm going to pick it up Friday morning. NC requires a notary for title sign over.... Fucking dumb. Then the same day load the trailer up and drive to NJMP... Fuck, I hope nothing goes wrong and everything is as described. If not, I guess I'm going to have to find a UHaul

FYI, you dont for VA, and you live in VA....That's where you are registering it.  I had no problem selling my trailer or my E92 to out of state-ers without notary.

I know VA doesn't, but it's an NC title. NC requires a notary. Rather follow the simple rules than dealing with this later. If the VA DMV does it right they would follow the other states rules and shouldn't allow a out of state transfer without a notary. I won't take that chance. It's just a pain.

Edit: I'd rather not deal with waiting to notarize so let's see what the buyer says. If he is okay with dealing with mailing the title if it doesn't work out then screw it lol

Yes, NC requires a notary for in state title transfer. Apparently VA DMV doesn't care about other states dmv rules. Fine with me if the seller is fine

Literally only a thing NC cares about is if you sell it...in NC.  I have turned in plates for both vehicles I sold that were registered in NC and sold in VA without needing a notary.

My enclosed came from PA, which requires a notary. I brought the un-notarized title to the VA DMV and they didn't give two shits about that.

Seriously though, I do about 70 with mine (and my open, when I had it) and it has been comfortable. Important to check tire pressures before the journey though. I just have bearings repacked every few years and forget about it otherwise.
