- .RJ - 10-16-2004 M3 over a C5 - I'd agree with you there. I havent been in a C6 yet, but I'm pretty sure it would be no contest for the vette. - JackoliciousLegs - 10-16-2004 Ok, I won't judge it til I drive it. I was REALLY impressed by the E46 though. It would have to be much more refined than the C5. - bassmangrammy - 10-16-2004 M3 won't attract cops like the C5, much less the C6. But the vette ensures the removal of underwear, for those who need a car to get the job done. Heh heh. I'd still take the M3 over the vette, but why not spend the extra couple Gzz for the 997 911? - Chris - 10-16-2004 BassmanGrammy Wrote:M3 won't attract cops like the C5, much less the C6. If by "extra couple" you mean "twice as many". - JackoliciousLegs - 10-17-2004 BassmanGrammy Wrote:the vette ensures the removal of underwear ![]() those lights drop panties ![]() that sexiness drops panties ![]() that interior drops panties
- Mike - 10-17-2004 hot man pirates drop panties! go skins! - bassmangrammy - 10-17-2004 .RJ Wrote:BassmanGrammy Wrote:why not spend the extra couple Gzz for the 997 911? Touche. I didn't realize the vette was under $50,000. But the new 911 Carrera will go on sale for $69,300 so it's still not quite twice. - .RJ - 10-17-2004 JackoliciousLegs Wrote: Yeah, in the high school parking lot the picture was taken ![]() BassmanGrammy Wrote:Touche. It doesnt happen. - Ryan T - 10-17-2004 The majority of hot chicks would mistake the M3 for just another 3 series, the vette is unmistakable. I saw the C6, I grinned, I sat in the C6 I smiled, I rode in the C6 I fell in love. The car handles better than the C5, a good bit better actually. Sharp 20-25mph U-turns are nothing, there is NO body roll. We didn't really get to experience the horsepower because it wasn't broken in yet, but by the end of the ride I was trying to convince my mom to trade the C5 on it. p.s. I still hate the headlights. - Dave - 10-17-2004 JackoliciousLegs Wrote:yeah man, they just fly right off when you flash your high beams at them. Angel eyes are cool, but WAY overrated. Jesus, as long as you can see at night who cares? JackoliciousLegs Wrote:Personally, I think that interior looks like ass and certainly would not use that as an attraction point of the car. Cut that hideous clay color and give it a nice light/dark grey combo or some grey/black and then it might look alright, although I still don't think I'd like it. Best part about the E46 M3 isn't visible unless the hood is up. IMO, the rest is shit and I'd take an E36 any day over it. E46's saving grace is that it is faster. - G.Irish - 10-18-2004 I would buy a Z06 before an M3 if we're talkin about street and track. The M3 has gotten too fat and heavy. Maybe the next gen will be lighter. As for Top Gear, I thought that review was just plain stupid. Yeah they're leaf springs, but the car handles find so why criticize. A Z06 will blow the goddamned doors off anything for under $100k except a Viper or maybe a GT3. TG was just determined not to like because its American and it takes a different approach than the Italians and Germans. Don't get me wrong, GM could afford to spend a few more dollars to improve the interior but shit its the best sportscar in the world on value. The only things that come close are the Elise and the Evo/STi (which are sports sedans not sports cars btw). - Evan - 10-18-2004 a corvette, especially a c6 with the new Italian flava, has exponentially greater panty obliterating powers than a "yet another yuppie" m3 (that a girl probably wont think is anything more than a regular 3 series anyway) but then again if we are relying on cars to get in girls pants, then we need a lot more help than just a car anyway. and a bit of tech about the leaf springs: they allow for the rear suspension to be more compact, and hence the rear of the car is much more hunkered over the rear wheels and the cG lowered. A spring is a spring, so there is no inherent weakness in the functionality or performance. The drawbacks of a leafspring is that they are harder to customize ride height and spring rates. 2 drawbacks that the corvette aftermarket has more than taken care of. ps- the corvette drivers at VIR earlier this year who saran wrapped the entire front half of their cars are fucking fags - G.Irish - 10-18-2004 Evan Wrote:ps- the corvette drivers at VIR earlier this year who saran wrapped the entire front half of their cars are fucking fags Just like those guys that put racer's tape all over the front of their M3's or 911's. - Evan - 10-18-2004 yeah, but I think saran wrapping the hood, bumper, and fenders takes it to an all new fagtastic level. Even moreso than the Mercedes guy who put painters tape on his wheels - G.Irish - 10-18-2004 He did the hood? Too bad it didn't melt and permanently bond to the paint... And geeeezzz painter's tape on the wheels, what was he thinking? - Dave - 10-18-2004 G.Irish Wrote:He did the hood? Clarkson then went on to show how flexible the rear panel was over the lights, completely failing to realise that the whole panel is impact absorbing anyway Rolling Eyes The car they were supplied with has the Magnetic Active Ride system yet they seemed not to have noticed as they complained that the ride quality was poor, yet it was the same car the Telegraph were given and they were complimentary. |
