Wait, you're telling me that isn't how it works? We still drive our own cars...and they are all different and this affords a different advantage to each individual? So that the driver with the best time might in fact, just be reflecting the advantages his car offers?

No, because autocross is 90% driver, 10% car. If you suck at driving, you're not going to be fast in anything.

bingo... i could go out there in a 90hp civic and potentially beat a guy in a ferrari. that would NEVER happen at a drag strip.

raw et yes, that's what bracket racing is for d00d

He hasn't. He may never.

Seriously, some of you guys are extremely lame. If you have never been to a dragstrip or ran your car at one then you have no fucking right to make a judgement about the thrill of it.

Bracket racing was designed to remove the intrinsic edge one car has over another and allow driving skill to determine winner in a race...I've got close to 50 1/4 mile passes down now and I don't consider myself very good at it.

I understand, no one wants to come out in their 15 second car and look slow but this sport, like ALL sports, is about having fun. If you can't do that then stay at home

Like Dave said pick a date and let us know, I'm not sure if I'm actually running the GS-T again this year, but chances are I will.

Actually it's our right as human beings to make our own judgements whether or not we've attended. Just because someone has never attended something doesn't mean that they can't sit back and think to themselves, "hmmm does this interest me at all, Nah". Personally I've never been to a dragstrip and I have no desire to, the thought of that kind of racing holds no interest for me, therefore I avoid such events. If it's your cup of tea, I'm happy for you, and you're welcome to it, but it's just that I know I wouldn't enjoy.

I know a ton of people out there that wouldn't ever dream of strapping a cylinder of compressed air on their back and breathing it underwater, or who'd never think of strapping a large rubber band to themselves and jumping off a perfectly good tower. Do I think that they're lame for not wanting to do two things that I've loved doing, nope, that's their choice and I respect their decision. Will I jokingly poke fun at them from time to time, yes, that's just the person I am.

For you maybe, personally I get a bigger charge out of scuba diving, but that wasn't my point. My point was, to each his/her own, and respect eachother's decisions. What's for one may not be for all, and while we can joke about eachother's interests, don't hate.

- Mike - 10-14-2004

a certain someone stayed home sick today to certain awd dsm beast running... hehehe maybe i'll come play.

you must be on crack. i'd rather be on track than scuba, but that is about the only thing that beats it.

- 83Rabbit - 10-14-2004

I have issues with underwater creatures half my size or bigger.... Also issues with the unknown lol

Im a pussy, that rules scuba out for me

- bluhayz - 10-14-2004

scuba is awesome.... haven't been to the track yet though. This thing with UVA sounds like fun. Even if some of us don't race it'll be good to show support for MM and hang out w/ the UVA guys. and I'm always up for a good bbq.
