These pop up for sale just about every other month at Costco. So as soon as the pop back up the plan is to mount these above the garage door, side by side.
This is where all those tubs on the floor will be stored, seasonal stuff (summer toys, beach chairs) and seasonal decorations (Xmas tree, etc) will go.

My only concern is putting these above the cars = me having to move a car to get to stuff, but that space above the door is essentially useless other wise, and keeping it up there and somewhat out of site makes me think it will look much better than on the sides somewhere.

Build your own. Its much much cheaper and you can customize it to whatever size you want.

If its seasonal stuff, you'll only need to move the cars and rearrange stuff once or twice a year.

Re: The new place (Garage) - JustinG - 09-28-2016

Picked up 2 - 84in Fast Tracks, 1 - 48in Fast Track, multiple hooks and a 32in kit that came with multiple hooks.

The 48 in track will likely go close to the ceiling to the left of the overhead beam, and I am using the Fast Track bike hooks to hang the bikes by the tire onto the wall. It will be similar to RJs proposed setup.

The 84 in Fast tracks will line the wall to the left of the breaker box, one high and one low. I picked up the power tools hooks for my weed eater/blower, along with a ladder hook and the previously mentioned kit with random hooks for drop cords etc. I also want the shelving kit they sell for these Fast Track vs a floor shelf on that side.

The 32in track will go behind the door, to hang the corn hole boards on.

Also the Ceiling racks are on sale at Costco starting tomorrow, $140 off, so 2 - 4x8 racks with the $100 accessory pack for $250. So it is time to snag those.

Came in here to tell you about costco sale. See I am not needed.

SafeRacks installed tonight with some help from my dad. Install took a couple of hours.

Now time to get these tubs off the floor!

Re: The new place (Garage) - Apoc - 10-07-2016

Have you considered having less stuff? Tongue

Re: The new place (Garage) - JustinG - 10-07-2016

I doubt I'll even fill both of these.

Most of the tubs are seasonal decorations and baby stuff in case there is a round 2.

Re: The new place (Garage) - JustinG - 10-10-2016

Loaded up, with room to spare, I need to organize the tubs a bit better. But all in all, I'm happy with it.

I want to get some sort of netting to put on the front/back and sides to prevent pushing anything off. May make a trip to harbor freight and get some of that bungie netting.

And I need an 8ft ladder, got kinda sketchy stretching to put heavier boxes up there with just the 6ft.

Insane how much cleaner that garage door opener makes it

FastTrack up, still have a 48in and 32in track to install.

Im thinking ill take the ladder down and figure something else out for that cause it just eats up so much room.

Re: The new place (Garage) - Sully - 10-10-2016

Two nails in a stud at an angle. Or one of those big yellow screw hooks if you want to get fancy

Why are you mounting shit to a wall you ain't painted?

It is driving me insane with shit just sitting on the floor.

ETA on painting the garage is approximately who da fuq knows.

You remove the hooks, black cover slides off, and you can cut around it with a brush. Any overspray will be covered by the black cover.

I didn't even notice that until your comment. Is that the opener on the right side? What kind is it?

This thread has got me all hot n' bothered to go re-organize my garage.

Re: The new place (Garage) - Sully - 10-11-2016

Several people in mm have them. Sidewinder maybe?

Edit: jackshaft. I knew it was something that sounded inappropriate but was thinking sidejacker or something. Jackshaft is much better though

Because he's a man and men don't need pretty garages.

Re: The new place (Garage) - Apoc - 11-06-2016

Recommend the lift master jackdrive?

Re: The new place (Garage) - JustinG - 11-06-2016

So far no issues. Super quiet, only noise comes from the actual door. Biggest benefit is obviously the overhead space saved. Just make sure your door tracks are at the correct angle specified for the opener.
