I thought we'd see the ZR-1 (and/or Mustang GT500) at Detroit but no dice. NY auto show is in March but it would seem like an odd venue for Ford and Chevy to debut their heavy hitters. Look for Ford to roll out something at Chicago in February. They have a history of using that show for the past 20+ years to debut new high performance Mustangs. The Chevy badges just don't fit RE: Trail is getting warmer...Mid-Engined Corvette - WRXtranceformed - 01-12-2018 A 1000 hp gas and battery powered mid-engined Corvette? I'm officially hot and bothered. The headlights look like they're borrowing more from the F-Type and I don't mind RE: Trail is getting warmer...Mid-Engined Corvette - Steve85 - 01-12-2018 "January 2019" - good, that gives them 12 months to figure out something else for the rear end. Otherwise, very pleased, not overdone. Trail is getting warmer...Mid-Engined Corvette - ViPER1313 - 01-12-2018 Hurray another 6 figure supercar. Yawn. Following its debut at the 2019 Detroit show, the eighth-gen Corvette will roll into dealerships later in the year with a base price of $70,000. Am I missing some industry lingo here? Is Deep Throat a special division of gm, like SVT is to Ford, or Facciale is to Alfa? RE: Trail is getting warmer...Mid-Engined Corvette - BLINGMW - 01-14-2018 Not that GM cares what I think, but if they plan on making a mid-engine C8 and regular C8 Corvette, that's dumb. Why not call the mid-engine one a Corvair? I can't tell if you're being facetious or not, but there are enough youngin's here that wouldn't get the reference, and it's before all of our times anyway: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Throat_(Watergate) RE: Trail is getting warmer...Mid-Engined Corvette - JPolen01 - 01-16-2018 (01-16-2018, 09:20 AM)CaptainHenreh Wrote:(01-14-2018, 08:58 PM)davej Wrote:Quote: Painted with drops of leaked information from a GM Deep Throat, our rendering of the forthcoming C8 is no mere guess. I came to make a comment like this, but I also could not tell if Dave had his sarcasm hat on or not. |
