FILL ALL THE SPACE WITH STUFF

Seriously.

But because #happywifehappylife

If it makes her happy, who am I to judge? I spend a lot more than $3k on my car hobby and she hasn't so much as inquired on that cost, so if that's her priority; make it so.

2 things from someone who has both done the media room and has kids.

1. If its a dedicated room, downstairs, out of the main flow of your house/kitchen/hangout area you will not use it much. You are much better off putting that money into a big wallmount tv and ceiling/wall speakers in your main living room.

2. Kids playroom are a godsend. But the more stuff you put in the room, the worse it is for a little kids playroom. You will never feel good leaving them alone and trust me thats the whole point. It will not be empty, kids have tons of crap.
