SlimKlim Wrote:A Stage II GTI would feel like it was nuclear powered compared to the fit, especially with decent tires on it.

I could put hard plastic tires on it and it'd still pull harder than the fit.

whenever I consider another VAG, I always hold it up to the fun of my old b5 s4 (fair or not, it's what i do.) I think I need to just get back out there and find myself a clean stage 3 s4 avant to be happy.

Re: 2010 GTI - Ken - 04-21-2015

Really didn't think it'd be this much a pain in the ass. Any ballpark ideas on what you guys think Carmax would offer? It's a 45 minute drive, without traffic, to the closest one so I don't want to drive for a shit offer.

Re: 2010 GTI - SlimKlim - 04-22-2015

KBB says $14,300-15,400 for trade in value, which seems high to me.

They are only going to offer you what the cars are going for at auction, because they have no motivation to buy that one from you vs. one off the auction block. If you can get a ballpark for that figure you'll have a rough idea of what they'll offer you.

I took the VW there once just to see and even though the KBB estimate was 12,500 they offered me 10,500 because it has a minor fender bender on the carmax that was dealer repaired.

Re: 2010 GTI - Ken - 04-22-2015

That's aweome, thanks! You would think mine would be average condition and fall somewhere around 13.5 since it has 42K miles.

Re: 2010 GTI - Ken - 04-27-2015

WHY WON'T THIS THING SELL? Does anyone know ANYONE willing to throw a somewhat decent offer?

I was your man right up until the "somewhat decent" part.

Re: 2010 GTI - flintster55 - 04-28-2015

Starting to get tempted even though it's probably a bad idea. Ken shoot me a PM or a FB message and we can see if we can work something out.
