Did you get your shirt/sticker at the college solo? I can bring some with me anyway. All we have for now is yellow with purple outline. Hope that matches your sperrys. I'll be there by 4 430 Friday hopefully.

If anyone paid dues and did not receive their shirt/sticker yet, please contact me. I will be brining some orders with me.

I vote yes on the grill as VIR's food always sucks. Can we get some volunteers to bring stuff for a cookout on Sat evening?

I have not yet paid dues but I can online if someone can bring a shirt/sticker combo for me. Are there plans to make other sticker colors aside from what we've got on hand?

Re: NASA-MA at VIR: October 13/14 - JPolen01 - 10-09-2012

Maeng what size shirt are you? I'm not sure if we have any extras as the few extras we had printed may be spoken for. We will probably be doing another sticker run soon. This batch was kinda sorta printed without mine or Trevor's knowing. I had asked about them and Wes printed them up without telling either of us.

Re: NASA-MA at VIR: October 13/14 - JustinG - 10-09-2012

College challenge shirts in yet? If so you can bring mine to VIR.

Not yet. Order will be going out by Thursday. We have been having an issue with Ray getting us the names/addresses of people who pre ordered through their forum. Shipping was included in the price of the shirt so no worries on how to get it.

Re: NASA-MA at VIR: October 13/14 - Jake - 10-15-2012

Awesome, awesome weekend. Some highlights for you fools who missed it:

I went down Thursday night so Aaron could teach me the ways of pacing Super Comp school. Not a whole lot to it, but it's easier to see versus tell or read. So, that was Friday, and then for the traditional Saturday/Sunday weekend, I was Pace 1.

Got to go out a few times to corral races. It's a weird feeling to rip down pit road in a stock-as-fawk 325i and shoot onto a hot track at ~80 mph, lights-a-blazin' as racecars fly past you/next to you/behind you. But, pretty fun too. Fortunately, even with all of the carnage (lots of cars hitting each other and tire walls this weekend) I don't think anyone was really injured. So, a testament to good safety systems and a top-notch EV crew.

Someone (driver? crew?) managed to back their white 3500 dually into my E36. Fortunately, they just got a little spot of white paint on the bumper, and I think it will buff out. Derrrp.

I've been working with Trevor from VBD on new websites, and I somehow convinced him that a few laps in VBD's "rental racecar" would be a good idea to include as part of my deposit. So, Trevor tossed me the keys in HPDE 3. I had DJ hop in (as I was not prepared to buy a balled-up M3 that evening) to give me some pointers and see what this thing could do. The brakes were a little squeamish, so I didn't want to push it too much, but we did get crankin' pretty good - around 143 on the back straight. Mega-thanks to Trevor for the opportunity and to DJ for keeping me 4-wheels-on Smile

MM alumni took home two "of the year" awards at the Saturday worker party -- huge congrats to Dave Allen for Worker Of The Year, and to Brian Maeng as Instructor Of The Year!!

We had an interesting participant in the Saturday Hyperdrive session, too. I've given him a few pace rides... he's 15, just got his permit, and this is his mom's van. His granddad races a C5 Corvette in American Iron, I think. We chatted post-drive and apparently he got 'er up to about 105 on the back straight, but "if mom asks, we hit about 70" Big Grin

This was, by far, the best NASA weekend of the year for me. I'll let others who were there chime in, but the weather was perfect, nobody had anything catastrophic fail in our crowd (although DJ's M3 is doing a good job at whipping up some milkshakes), and a good time was had by all.

Looking forward to the November event at Summit -- I'll be there in some capacity, working -- and everything the 2013 season has in store

:

Congrats guys! (And we got three "of the year" awards for MM)

I had a great weekend. Started to get my car a little settled down and back into the groove. I managed to bring the wrong set of tires for the races, woops. I mounted them up and go...wait...shit  I swear I would forget my head if it wasnt attached.

The weather was amazing, and it was sooo nice to be able to live it up saturday night since both races were saturday instead of having one sunday. It was a really fun weekend for me, surprisingly not from the racing at all.

I got to take Jake out for a ride in Jim Khoury's GTS2 car, and on sunday Paul Newby and I co-drive his car in the fun race on Sunday.

As for the results, Saturday 1st race I won 1st, for the second race...I go out and she is drinking about a gallon of coolant every 15 minutes. I know the poor girl is going, but I want to limp her through the weekend. She survived (barely) the first race, but would not survive the second. Off the start it goes tstraight into F*** you I am done mode. I almost get run over when she proceeds to shut down at the start  oh well! This is what my oil cap looks like :vomit:

Ended the year on a good note: GTS2 Mid-Atlantic Champion and Rookie of the Year.

Re: NASA-MA at VIR: October 13/14 - ScottyB - 10-15-2012

awesome job guys! and congrats Jake on taking that M out, so jelly.

that last picture is every reason that ever existed, ever, that there is no excuse not to get on track outside of funds.

Whoops, sorry about leaving ya off! I was going off the picture since my memory sucks.

This was also a highlight of my Saturday -- I'm convinced that DJ is the master of being in control of being out of control

ScottyB Wrote:that last picture is every reason that ever existed, ever, that there is no excuse not to get on track outside of funds.

Seriously, throw some non-sucky brake pads on whatever you're driving, and some good fluid, and go drive!
