btw for the transmission fluid, it's that way for any twin clutch system. Mine is 106 dollars a quart, 80 if you get a "deal". Shouldn't have to be till around 100k anyway though.

maybe the price of the gearbox oil is what is making some manufacturers (BMW, there's another post about that, i-net too slow at JMU to find the link) say that the trans oil is good for the duration of the tranny. Then they dont have to hear people moan about 100+ a quart for preventative maintenance they just get a bigger bill for a new tranny install. </speculation>

No tranny fluid will last more than a few thousand miles with the heat that you'd generate on track. Guess that's just another reason why the consumables bills for the GTR make it another impractical track car.

I saw one of these in the Regal parking lot in Shortpump not too long ago.. some foreign guys were pimpin it and it was nicely doulbe parked diagonally across two "take-out" parking spaces at a neighboring restraunt in the parking lot. monsterous car probably couldn't fit in one space anyways.

Well, I was planning on turboing my tC next year with my 2009 tax return and bonus check, but that plan was just shot down...
Instead, the wife agreed that I could get (translated: let) me a Nissan Skyline in a couple 2-3 years if I save the money instead of spending it on a turbo for the tC. Obviously, not one of the new Skylines, but I am eyeing a couple R33 GTRs and R34 GTS-Ts. This was all decided last night (after she saw how beautiful and amazing the R34 GTR is on F&F), so I'm sharing the AMAZING news with the world!!! ^_^
So expect a Skyline amongst the MM crowd in the next couple years!

Motorex was shut down, and with it ALL R34 skylines are completely illegal that are now being brought in. You may say they have registrations, but they are illegal. R33s can still be brought here.

Yeah, if you want to own a Skyline, then you have to be willing to live with the fact that Homeland Security could be knocking on your door at any time lol. And D is right, just because a vehicle is registered does not make it legal.
For that reason my wife wants me to get an R33 instead, which are DOT certified b/c Motorex submitted vehicles to get the R33 (96-98) crash tested.
But honestly, I have always wanted a R34 (I call it my unicorn... I never thought I would ever catch it. And yes, I call it this BEFORE Gone In 60 Seconds lol), so if the opportunity arises, I will buy one. Screw the Feds!!!

^^^ I agree, I almost got one, my friend lives in hong kong and works for a shipping company. Only gonna cost me like 11 grand for the car, but then almost another 11-15k in shipping/registration/ bullshit bullshit bullshit. I wasnt willing to pay almost 30 grand for a car where parts are gonna be insane expensive/hard to get and where I already own an awd turbo car.

It's weird but I was talking to TOV Jeff about the subject of fraud in the automotive aftermarket industry. For some reason it seems to be a very common thing in the aftermarket world to have people go into business and commit outright fraud or just not get stuff done to the point that it's criminal. The Hennessy saga is a good example, or Peter Farrell Supercars, or the whole thing with R & D Motorsports. I dunno, maybe other small businesses have this problem too but it seems extremely common in cars.

So the new gen GT-R is getting faster and faster. They're aiming for the ZR1's 'ring record. I'd personally rather have a ZR1.

They finally settled the class-action lawsuit over the GTR's transmission problems after launch control:

Owners will receive notices in the mail with the details. Whew. Glad that's over. Now can we get back to enjoying one of the finest cars on the roads today?
