By the way, spending a trillion dollars on anything but an Awesome Machine for Rex is a terrible fucking idea. - .RJ - 02-04-2009 Andy Wrote:In a 850 billion bill, there's bound to be a bunch of BS I thought we were going to have change :dunno: - Evan - 02-04-2009 .RJ Wrote:maybe if you "hope" hard enoughAndy Wrote:In a 850 billion bill, there's bound to be a bunch of BS - Apoc - 02-04-2009 Andy Wrote:To anyone who does end up listening to it for period of time, let me know if you can detect any sort of political bias. I honestly can't but who knows, I could be communist. It definitely leans left. It's no where near part of the liberal machine but it kinda reminds of Jon Stewart, just without the funny. - Ginger - 02-04-2009 Plus One. I deleted the preset on morning about 6 years ago when they started quoting job creation statistics. - HAULN-SS - 02-04-2009 All kinds of depressing news today: http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/02/04/goog ... pstoryview - Apoc - 02-04-2009 HAULN-SS Wrote:All kinds of depressing news today: Yes, very depressing. - CaptainHenreh - 02-04-2009 How is that depressing? Wait, nevermind. Deersty posted it. Carry on. - Andy - 02-05-2009 Ginger Wrote:Plus One. I deleted the preset on morning about 6 years ago when they started quoting job creation statistics. Planet money started 6 months ago. Derecola, I can see and assume the reporters own personal viewpoints but I don't think they give Dems a pass or Republicans a beating. They actually seem to explain stuff pretty well. Got an example of something that you think is biased? - Apoc - 02-05-2009 Andy Wrote:Derecola, I can see and assume the reporters own personal viewpoints but I don't think they give Dems a pass or Republicans a beating. They actually seem to explain stuff pretty well. Got an example of something that you think is biased? I didn't exactly say it was that extreme. I think they're fair, but I think the personal opinions of the people are somewhat liberal and that comes through. Saying that the stimulus, in it's current format, is a good thing is left leaning. I'd have to go back to get more examples to quote. Jon Stewart makes fun of Obama, but you can tell he's a liberal... that was kinda my point. - PGK - 02-05-2009 The only un-biased radio or TV news program is C-SPAN, 'cuz it's just congress. But I guess you could call it biased based on the politics of whoever is speaking at the moment though. - Andy - 02-05-2009 Apoc Wrote:Andy Wrote:Derecola, I can see and assume the reporters own personal viewpoints but I don't think they give Dems a pass or Republicans a beating. I would agree with that. - BLINGMW - 02-05-2009 honestly, I consider Stewart and Colbert a very reliable source of news. If they were all you watched, you certianly wouldn't miss any big stories. And because their lean is so intentionally far, you can separate it from the facts. :dunno: - Apoc - 02-05-2009 BLINGMW Wrote:honestly, I consider Stewart and Colbert a very reliable source of news. If they were all you watched, you certianly wouldn't miss any big stories. I think they intentionally go to extremes for comedic effect on whatever the situation calls for... and the last 8 years it was left. I think what they report on and who they make fun of fairly balanced though. - HAULN-SS - 02-05-2009 BLINGMW Wrote:honestly, I consider Stewart and Colbert a very reliable source of news. If they were all you watched, you certianly wouldn't miss any big stories. You might as well use blogs as sources then, too - HAULN-SS - 02-09-2009 http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h110-40 This is probably a good thing to be looking into, given the current economic situation, and all...edit: Discuss? I'm not sure that reparations need to go out to anyone, for any reason..but especially not when we're about to go a trillion more dollars in debt - Evan - 02-26-2009 $3.7 trillion budget increases annual deficit to 1.75 trillion. with another 750 billion in it for the banks. hope and change. edit: 750 not 250 - Apoc - 02-26-2009 It's so cute to see you on the other side, Evan. - HAULN-SS - 02-26-2009 Wait..that 1.75 trillion deficit is going to be cut in half though. This is a hell of a way of doing business. Spend twice as much, then cut that amount in half, and pretend like you've done an awesome thing. - HAULN-SS - 02-26-2009 also:
