Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - CaptainHenreh - 10-29-2014 I dunno. Today, I sent an email, "Lee, are you gonna be on tonight to assist me in a Nightfall run?" And he was like: "Sure thing bro, does anyone else wanna get in on it?" So we'll log on at our 'normal time' of 1930, eastern and rock some shit out. Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - Apoc - 10-29-2014 We figured out the problem. I'm not a gamer. Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - HAULN-SS - 10-29-2014 I have been thinking about how this game looks cool, but I am a former gamer. I guess now I know to save my money. Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - Mike - 10-30-2014 it is cool and worth the purchase price, but there is definitely a grind wall that you hit. if you have a solid core of friends still playing, the grade of that wall is lessened, but even my most hardcore friends are burning out. Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - JustinG - 10-30-2014 I am almost a 29 and need to level up my guns, which will be tedious. But I haven't gotten burnt out yet. I play maybe 4-5 hours a week on a good week, not 20 hours a week like the people complaining there isn't enough content. I haven't even broken into the PvP stuff yet so I still have that avenue, which I really enjoyed while Iron Banner was active. That and the 10 or so people I actively play with help, I would be bored if I were grinding all this stuff out solo. If they keep the DLCs coming on a regular basis it will hold my interest until The Division. 1st DLC due 12/9. Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - WRXtranceformed - 10-30-2014 Join PS4, have plenty of friends to play with that know what they are doing, profit. Crushed the raid several times now, just waiting on raid set chest and arms to drop so I can hit 30. I would post up my profile but I don't want to make Chris cry At this point some of us are duoing and soloing the nightfall strikes and I still haven't gotten tired of the game.

I don't know anyone in this time zone that owns a PS4 and you guys are in bed before I'm done with dinner, so that wouldn't help me. The real reason is I live in a different time zone than 97% of the people I know that game and I work in HR so I'm not exacting surrounded by bros that game. On the bright side, recruiters galore. Apparently I've only played 18 hours of Destiny. I need to start using destinylfg. Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - Apoc - 10-31-2014 I'm over the average age of this company by a good margin. The Delores's are few and far between. Actually, there was one Delores and she was not what you describe. Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - WRXtranceformed - 11-02-2014 Quick little video I edited of a sniping spree on the nightfall strike this week! Not my quickest snap sniping but it does include a double headshot at the end!! Shows the power of maxed elemental damage + overpenetrate I also successfully soloed that Nightfall strike (Sekrion) for the first time. I was knocking out fusion rifle kills and figured I would see if I could make it all the way through, and I did! 8) Have a video of the final 15 minutes of that as proof but I haven't uploaded it. Also tried the raid on level 30 with a group of guys, of which none were 30. I might have been the most leveled there (halfway through 29). We made it to the Templar and the lower level guys couldn't keep mobs away from the the confluxes and kept dying. And when you die you can't get revived. I honestly didn't think it was that hard, but I bet Atheon will be a lot harder. Hoping to get a level 30 raid knocked out here in the near future ~! Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - Mike - 11-04-2014 Got new CoD. Definitely better than Ghosts, but not sure I wanted all the new mobility stuff from this series. I suppose they had to eventually do it and the timing was right since everyone else has been doing it, but at some point I want a next-gen regular old FPS with human characters and abilities. Basically, I want BO2 to be remade. Looking back, that shit was so good. Anyway, it is taking FOREVER to download so I've only played the first single player mission. Graphics are nice, it seems like the story is fairly legit, and the new mechanics seem pretty well dialed in. Very eager to get into MP since that's my real care and where I'll potential spend days of my life. My only complaint right now is that the guns kind of lack character. It could simply be a skin thing that I'll get over. Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - HAULN-SS - 11-04-2014 I hear you on getting back to basics. The most fun I had out of any of the CoD series was plain ole CoD2, with 3 being a close second. Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - WRXtranceformed - 11-04-2014 BO2 agreed was the winner. I miss lightweight class with a shottie...so much wrecking, so many dreams crushed. I need to go pick it up today, I think I already paid for it. Although several of us had completed it before, the clan finally as a team beat the raid last night (well, except rex ). And I have to say I am finally getting a bit burnt on Destiny. I don't mind the grind in that type of game honestly, but being stuck at 29 after beating the raid half a dozen times and hoping to get the two drops I need to get to 30 is getting old. It's basically luck of the draw as to whether or not you get stuck with a million shards for beating it, two guns that you are never going to use, or armor that levels you up. It's frustrating because I want to max my character out but RNG is holding me back. I started leveling up a little hunter but honestly I will probably be scaling back the time I am on.....just logging on to beat Nightfall, Heroic and raid each week.
Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - G.Irish - 11-04-2014 Yeah I think having to rely on random drops to get to level 30 is a bad mechanic. All of the progression up to that point has not been totally reliant on the RNG, you can earn just about everything through guaranteed rewards. Then at the end of many hours invested you've got to complete the hardest thing in the game multiple times to get the gear you need. Especially when you can only get gear from the raid once a week on each difficulty. I'm still having fun raiding and in the crucible so that might be where I start spending my time until the DLC drops. The other thought I had is if level 32 is available in the DLC, maybe just not worry about getting full raid gear in the VoG. Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - Sully - 11-04-2014 I think you guys need a new destiny thread. Holy shit. Anyone, i guess really Mike only since the rest of you are so far up destiny's ass, getting the new gta v for the new consoles? First person gta sounds kinda cool and they have way more hardware to work with now and the original was pretty awesome as far as world size and stuff. I may even getting a next gen console for it. But I'm still kinda an Xbox fan and I've stayed so out of these new consoles, i don't know how any of this dlc stuff works. Do I even buy a disc anymore? How do you take the game to friends houses? What is this world coming to? Will I even get a response since this isn't destiny related? Too much change scares me. Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - JustinG - 11-04-2014 GTA has never really done it for me. Vice City was ok, liberty was meh, haven't played one since. I was all about Xbox with the 360, but I have drank up all the PS koolaid. It helps that most of the people I play with have PS4 and only 2 people have XBONE. So if you play online and multiplayer, I'd go with the console the majority of your friends went with. The PS4 is a great machine, but so is the XBONE, you really can't go wrong. There are only a few console exclusives, Tomb Raider is upcoming for XB and of course Forza, PS4 has the exclusive Destiny content, not sure if there are any exclusives in the pipeline. Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - Sully - 11-04-2014 I don't have many friends who have consoles besides like you guys and all you play is destiny lol. I think if I got one, I'd much rather have the forza option. I don't really play enough to justify one right now but maybe if gta v is awesomer and I have more of a desire to play in the future. Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - JustinG - 11-04-2014 I play Destiny cause it is the only game other than COD available right now worth a damn on any console. I doubt I will buy COD, unless I get bored with Destiny after the DLC, or if the Division gets delayed. Yes, you can still buy a disc OR you can but it straight from the console, your choice. If you buy it virtually it is stored in the cloud, to play at a friends you would have to log in to your account. http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/games/digital-game-faq Re: Video Games Thread - Gamertags in 1st post - Sully - 11-05-2014 ^Yea but wouldnt you have to download it onto their console from the cloud to play? Doesnt that take likr several hours for bigger games? |
