Hooray fighters!

(that's my constructive commentary. I am Andrew's worthless day to day work routine.)

- Maengelito - 08-10-2006

damn mike, i had no idea. sorry to hear about that shit and glad that you're relatively okay. as far as the comments go, its not like apoc was pissing on your grave after fucking your mom. you can be just as much of a jackass as well. we all are most of time (especially evan). you guys are buddies so you know its not mean spirited. its just an expensive but relatively healthy lesson that bikes can be dangerous.

ps - mike, glad you're okay

sorry to hear it mike. you ok? sounds like it could have been painful.
the same thing almost happened to me coming back from VIR while towing the trailer (now that would have been an ugly accident) when 2 cars full of lost dipshits decided to try to stop in the middle of rt 29

not when people crash.

so... i found some guy on craiglist that is selling all the plastics that i need.

gauges - mine still work, need to epoxy some tabs back.
front l + r cowls - part of the $275 + shipping package
mirrors - $25 for right one, left one part of package
right mid cowl - part of package and i can sell my trashed one for track parts
right lower cowl - part of package
left mid fairing - mine is still good and i'm getting one with the package
left lower fairing - mine is still good and i'm getting one with the package
windscreen - need to buy a new one
headlight - need to epoxy a tab back on and do some buffing
seat cowl - mine is fine and i'm getting one with the package
tool kit - mine is fine and i'm getting one with the package
front fairing stay - need to buy

i might actually make money out of this!

Yeah and Ryan and I were the car in front of you. Don't think I didn't see the trailer startin' to dance in the rear view. I've been rear-ended (haha, funny joke) 5 times in my driving career, one of them by my best friend because of a very similar highway U-turn situation, so I've gotten used to watching behind me. It's also the reason why people following too close is an uber pet-peeve of mine.

Wouldn't have happened if you had FWD!

You were not seriously hurt (and I knew that) so I don't see it any differently.
Who cares if mine was because of jackassery! 8)

That hardly seems like the same kind of thing, but I guess thats just my opinion.

Not that I disagree with what you said earlier, but still, I think there could have been a better time for it/perhaps a more constructive way to say it. Anywho...

...Mike, glad to hear you're ok. The way I see it its better to get these kinds of things out of the way now, on your first bike, early on, so you can learn what you can and become a better rider. Lookin forward to seeing what comes of the bike Big Grin

a) i was physically hurt... i've been hopped up on ibuprofen (5 of them at a time) to curb the pain.
b) i was clearly joking, you were clearly poking salt in an open wound

Mike Wrote:a) i was physically hurt... i've been hopped up on ibuprofen (5 of them at a time) to curb the pain.

a) Note I said seriously... either way it was obvious you're not bent outta shape over it 'cause we were jovial last night.

b) Perception, my friend, perception. Mine was meant as a joke too but it doesn't seem that way when you're on the other end. Were I attempting to twist the knife I would have said something like "See what you get when you think you're awesome at everything you fucking n00b. Go get some training wheels 'cause you obviously can't even keep your shit off the ground."

- Mike - 08-10-2006

i maintain that they were not the same, but you obviously don't want to hear it. la la la bike might get back together for less than $500. i guess collision insurance lwouldn't have made much sense, eh?

- Apoc - 08-10-2006

I don't care if I hear it, I just disagree.

Don't you have Uninsured Motorist protection on your policy? It should cover hit-and-run and is usually a $0 deductible. We're gonna have to agree to disagree on the Collision.

P.S. - This is some old school shit right here--> http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=639975&page=1

- Mike - 08-10-2006

oh really? crap... i just sent the money for the new parts. should cover hit and runs or does?

I know my Nationwide does... your mileage may vary.

They can still reimburse what you've paid out as long as you have a police report.

you might be able to get money from insurance - just tell them the issue and you might get reimbursed or you could even get more.

look at your policy Tongue

Damn, Reston NoVa meats are more old skool NoVa than NWA.....

Running into a curb with your euro luxo-sled and busting a foglight isnt the same as falling off your motorcycle and road rashing yourself.

"Its not even the same fucking sport!"

- Mike - 08-10-2006

i suppose i'll give my insurance a call tomorrow. they could come in handy w/ the fairing support and gauges Smile do i bother with the lightly dented tank?

- Apoc - 08-10-2006

IMO, take them for every fucking penny. You've never had a claim, this "wasn't your fault" :-P and you pay your premiums for a reason. Then again I've never had a problem making a claim (think I'm at 4 or 5?) and I know you're fairly skurred to do so. If you're gonna do it, get that shit back to OEM.

Don't forget to ask about gear too since it sounds like you gotta replace your lid.

- Mike - 08-11-2006

just got off the phone with insurance... they very well may cover it under uninsured.

- Mike - 08-11-2006

crap... just found this on some lawyer's website:

Quote:"Unfortunately, an accident caused by the aggressive or reckless driving of a vehicle that does not come into physical contact with yours is not covered by most uninsured motorist policies."
