Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Evan - 09-23-2011 I have an extra touchpad new unopened 16gb for sale. if you are local to nova and you want it then throw me an offer, no lowballs. have an extra 32 but i might keep that one for a future win8 or android port. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - SlimKlim - 09-23-2011 Oh hey guys. I got a 16GB ipad 2 for a birthday/christmas/valentines day/easter present so can I play in this thread now? Is erryone else on android or one of those hps? And I'm downloading Gun Bros, apparently this is the shit. Overkill is an awesome, free, arcade style FPS that's pretty addicting. Dunno if its available on andriod. I've also got Jelly Car, which is fun but only has a few levels, and tiny tower, which at first I thought I wouldn't play, but its actually kind of addictive in its own, weird, 8 bit way. I love having a tablet. Browsing, reading, playing, IMing, and facebooking are all just as easy to do, and its all on a pretty little sliver of a thing as opposed to my old heavy, shitty, uncomfortable Dell laptop that burns my leg when i try to use it on the couch. Since having the ipad I use it for pretty much all of my casual interneting, I use my work computer for work and my old computer basically as a big wifi enabled hard drive to store music and videos on, which I play through the appletv. I'll try Overkill, the games I play most on ipad are Spirit HD and Quarrel (like a turn-based strategy version of Scrabble). I'm hoping one of these days I'll find a good RTS to play on a tablet. On another note, has anyone sideloaded Netflix onto their Transformer yet? Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - WRXtranceformed - 09-26-2011 Have not, I did finally get around to rooting my TF101 last night now that they came out with an easier "one click" method. (it's not technically one click but it is much easier than the previous methods) Currently only running Titanium Backup (deleted Zinio Reader and a couple of the other useless stock apps you can't normally delete), Ad Free (blocks ads while browsing internet and on apps) and CWM for when I decide to play around with some custom kernels. I wish I had done this sooner, the tablet is noticeably faster and I haven't even gotten around to installing SetCPU to overclock. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - WRXtranceformed - 09-26-2011 Apoc Wrote:I think this is the one I ended up doing. Pretty straightforward. The only confusing part is that the TF screen stays black when you put it into APX mode. Once you start booting everything up the screen will show some words.WRXtranceformed Wrote:Have not, I did finally get around to rooting my TF101 last night now that they came out with an easier "one click" method. (it's not technically one click but it is much easier than the previous methods) You have to extract the ROM stuff into the same folder as NVFlash for it to work right, took me a minute to figure that out after watching the video. Android based, Dual Core, Wifi, 7in screen, $199. CLICKY POW Thoughts? I kinda want. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Kaan - 09-28-2011 maybe i'm asking too much... but anyone know if there is a tablet that will let me edit and manage hondata software? I'm not trying to cheat or anything i just want to be able to plug something in and lower the rev limiter before someone borrows my car.
Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - JustinG - 09-28-2011 just buy a $200 netbook Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Mike - 09-28-2011 JustinG Wrote:just buy a $200 netbook the netbook is dying. tablets are not. there is a reason for this. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - JustinG - 09-28-2011 Agreed, but I doubt there is going to be anyway to run a USB or Serial cable from his ECU to a Tablet. Unless you can run one of those bluetooth OBD adapters with Hondata? Netbooks are perfect for Engine Management, $200, and small enough to throw in the glovebox. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Mike - 09-28-2011 oh. didn't read he wanted to do engine management. meaning... i didn't read at all. ok, netbook
Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Sully - 09-28-2011 I thought some of the tablets had a usb connector :dunno: I hated my netbook with a passion and I had it special made from HP so it had more RAM than pretty much anything you can get off the shelf at Bestbuy. It was the slowest POS I have ever used. I think windows Me might have been faster. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Sully - 09-28-2011 Nvm, I tihnk you need a windows Operating system which most tablets don't run or do they
Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - JustinG - 09-28-2011 Still have no issues with my netbook, other then the fact i cant find it. I treat it like a netbook, not a gaming computer like 90% of people want to use it as (not saying you are Matt). I loved that thing for DSMlink. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Sully - 09-28-2011 I tried using mine like 3 times for browsing the internet and what not. Maybe I didn't give it a fair chance but I just didn't see the point when as far as everything goes, it wasn't that much more portable than my laptop that was much faster and more capable. Of course they are both PC's so now my expensive ass laptop is a year old and slow as shit and gets hot enough to cook on so I'm just waiting for my touchpad so I can get on MMsports.org and Bimmerforums and I will be all good. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - HAULN-SS - 09-28-2011 My mom just got that Toshiba tablet that has built in USB. It was pretty nice. Same processor as Xoom and Tab, cheaper than both. I think the only bad thing about it is no Gorilla Glass |
