So for an ethics assignment on forgiveness, I had to write a letter forgiving somebody for a wrong done to me. Here's what I turned in....


I would like to forgive all the people that have made my life more complicated than necessary this week, in relation to one of my cars.
To Ms. Becker, IÔÇÖm sorry you didnÔÇÖt notice my car sitting in the road when you drove past it the first time and decided to back into it going 15 mph because you didnÔÇÖt notice it still sitting there, simply because you were looking for your cell phone (which was no longer in the car). You are very lucky that your car was not damaged and that my bumper wasnÔÇÖt destroyed, being that it was thrown back a car length when you hit it, despite the emergency brake being engaged. Furthermore, it just so happens that my car wouldnÔÇÖt start and had to be push started by myself and my girlfriend, which I believe was caused by your stupidity. Be sure that I will collect from you, and probably not even fix it since the damage doesnÔÇÖt affect how the car drives, but I wonÔÇÖt screw you like a shop since IÔÇÖm not an evil person. I should charge you for the time IÔÇÖve spent giving my girlfriend massages, since she was sitting in the car when you hit it and has whiplash as a result. YouÔÇÖre lucky she doesnÔÇÖt want to go to a doctor and doesnÔÇÖt need a professional to rub the nasty kinks out of her neck.
I forgive you, Mr. Courtney, for selling me a motor and transmission that was ÔÇ£perfectÔÇØ but after 100 miles apparently has a slipping clutch which would have been extremely easy to fix while it was out of the car, but now I get to spend 10 hours underneath a car this weekend, contorting myself into awkward positions so that I can install a new clutch which ended up costing me the same amount as I paid for your engine and tranny that ÔÇ£had no problemsÔÇØ. Perhaps you should have paid more attention to the fact that pushing the gas pedal didnÔÇÖt result in an increase in speed, in less on the ÔÇ£head gasket showing some wearÔÇØ which is total bullshit. By the time IÔÇÖve bolted the transmission back on, which will make it my 4th time, I should be able to do a tranny job on this car with my eyes closed and a pet monkey for an assistant, while youÔÇÖre still wondering why something just didnÔÇÖt feel right.
I forgive you Simmons Towing, for towing me from my girlfriendÔÇÖs apartment, where I have been living for the past 2 months, because they will not give us a parking pass and you donÔÇÖt normally patrol unless there is a huge party in the college apartment complex that adjoins our quiet grad student/local resident apartment complex. It would have been nice to come home from working for the past 12 hours instead of standing outside for 30 minutes waiting for you to come and release my car (so that I didnÔÇÖt have to pay another $80 for holding it overnight) in a situation that never should have happened. At least now you know my car and have promised not to tow it again.
Your faults have made me a better person, so therefore you are forgivenfor now.

I'm tentatively flying out monday - but that is somewhat flexible - picking up a car (pics will come when i get back and its all dirt and bug covered) and driving back over 2-3 days depending on where we stop, how much red bull and crack I can take before my head a splode, etc.

I'll cover the plane ticket out there from IAD for whoever wants to join me as well.

So.... who wants to join me and DLR (in the cd player) in my journey across this great country in quite possibly the most absurd thing I've done yet?

Ok guys, I need some help picking out some suspension, brake, and wheel stuff. I have some stuff already set and/or ordered.
1. GLH 5-lug conversion
2. GLH brake upgrade w/ drilled rotors and 200mm rear drums.
3. 96ÔÇÖ Sebring 16X6 aluminum wheels

NOTE- The brakes will be upgraded later to ÔÇ£stage 2ÔÇØ with minivan front brakes (60mm single piston caliper!!!) and ACR, SRT-4, or Lebaron rear discs. But I need the GLH kit to get to five-lug for now.

So here be the big questions. Seeing as this car will be for the HPDE and Auto-x as well as for street use I need to pick a suspension combo for it.

FWD performance (<!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.fwdperformance.com">www.fwdperformance.com</a><!-- w -->) is the only vendor offering L-body suspension right now. I am poor so bare in mind that I have about $700 going into the engine and tranny already.

Some of the package 2 and 3 stuff I know I can get cheaper. I have a friend who can order me the KYBs cheap and I know a guy who has Mopar front springs (ÔÇ£auto-xÔÇØ style) for $50. ONLY FWD performance can get the Koni stuff, they are contracted. Mix and match between the 3 packages and comment on any of my possibilities or any others you may know of. Also, do I need the swaybars?

I am also looking into that NASA deal with the Konig wheels. I would use the 16in for the street and the 15in Konigs for the track. Which do u guys think would look best? The car will be staying red (most likely a custom pearl or metal flake Garnet red) and it will have a GLH body-kit in flat black. (trivial but anyway)

the car show has always been followed by food, drink, and women until the sun basically comes up. This is anual as the show itself, elections of officers, the f-ed up drive to CMP...

put ideas down now... someone offer up their home asap... the money will be taken care of some how....

Don't know if this will matter, but there is a spring football game going on this Saturday, 4/23 at Bridgeforth Stadium at 1pm. I don't know how many people will show up, but being 1-AA national champs, there might be a crowd.

My point is that the Hillside parking lot will probably have some people parking in it, usually a lot of people park for football in this lot. I already talked to Jack and he said they were going to rope off a section for the car show, but just a heads up, and it probably wouldn't hurt to get there early to make sure the space is being reserved.


I guess I should have put it in the events section.

some of the perks of where i work is that i get to keep up on materials development around the world, so i get all sorts of boring magazines that occasionally have some cool stuff in them. one of them is a small tidbit in the american ceramic society bulletin that i thought i'd share as we start to see more ceramic goodies make their way onto cars.
