Great to see everyone at Hfest! Despite the unbearable heat, nonstop event craziness, and being 6 months pregnant, I would not have wanted to be anywhere else. Thanks for your help as this event would not have been a success without it. I am looking forward to 2006 already.

j/k, probably the best weekend of my life. we had the whole place on the dance floor at the reception, it was wild. once i get the pics, i'll post up the '56 rolls that jen and i rode in to the reception!

One of my roomates is moving out in a few weeks, so we'll have an open room here. Its a SFH in vienna, close to the dunn loring metro. Rent will probably be 600/mo, 700 w/ utilities. The place does have a 2 car garage, but my integra occupies half of it and my roomates excess crap occupies most of the other half - but anyone who rents is welcome to use the space to wrench and use my tools.

so this was the first weekend I tracked my 318 with an oil pressure gauge installed. I've heard you want to maintain about 10psi per 1k RPM (don't know if this is valid at all), but mine certianly does in a straight line, usually is around 50psi after 3k and almost 70 at redline.

But I was a little concerned as I layed it into some long righthanders at Roeblingbling, pressure would start to fall off, and through apex and exit, it'd be maintaining more like 30psi. Running a little overfull helped, I was seeing more like 25 or less before I added another half quart. I started running more of the long corners in 4th just to keep the revs down a bit with such low pressure. Short rights and any left were no problem.

Does anyone know if this is "normal"? I'll ask around, but just wanted to know what you all have heard. Many BMW's have pressure problems when holding a hard right, complicated by the slant of the engine and oil sloshing up the side of the block, I just don't know how low should be considered dangerous.

Any tech info or links would be much appriciated! Conjecture and hearsay will be tolerated. :wink:

IÔÇÖm about to buy a 1988 Celica Alltrac that has a fully built motor and all that jazz...now the seller was being pretty stupid n started the car after a few months in very cold weather n drove it hard, only after 2,000 miles after the rebuild. He then parked the car n now IÔÇÖm buying it.

The real question is.... I was wondering if there are any good Japanese motor shops for cheap? He is selling the car as is and I donÔÇÖt have the tools or the space to work on the car.

Any recommendations would be helpful thanks.

Thought I'd drop a post here to see if any WRX MM'ers would be interested. I know Shea already has one This is a good tool to unleash some horsepower in your WRX. It can be used to simply reflash the ECU of a stock WRX with no mods for increased horsepower and torque, or has other stages for when specific mods are added. It's plug and play, pretty simple to use, and can also read / clear CELS and monitor active boost.

It's universal to all 2004 WRXs, and I believe 2005s as well as they have basically the same ECU programming. Keep in mind since it's universal, YMMV. I saw good gains with the Stage 2 software, but I think my ECU wasn't happy with me after I removed the intake silencer.

Anyway, $500 shipped. Comes with all the parts, a portable DVD carrier bag I bought for it, and I'll update the software for it after I unmarry it from my ECU. Let me know if you have any questions.

IF I were to keep the 318 and register it down here, I'm not sure it would pass VA emissions. I scraped by NJ emissions back in May, but I'm a little scurred of VA.
