HELP! Ford dealers in the Northern VA area
Posted by: fiveoh2go - 02-07-2015, 08:14 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (14)

Looking to purchase a new Ford soon and was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a decent Ford dealer in the NoVa/DC area. Even better if you have a particular salesperson in mind as well.

Would like to buy locally through a dealer in the Valley but the lots around here just don't have selection that the larger dealers in NoVa do.

I don't suppose anyone wants a FOUR cyl Honda Element?
Posted by: BLINGMW - 02-05-2015, 01:39 PM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (51)

It's an '03, looks like this except dirtier:
The cool thing is it's 2wd, 5spd, factory subwoofer, has a tow hitch and gets 26-28 mpg.
The not cool thing is that it suddenly lost commpression on cyl 1 and it's not a rocker or something visible under the valve cover. I'm not inclined to pull the head or pay someone else to, anyone want it as-is? Still runs but I wouldn't recommend driving it super far.

Alrighty, weather looks good enough to go tomorrow. Mid to high 40s when we leave. Meet 1pm at R1 lot (baseball lot across from C4). Even if you don't have a car you should still come along. Views will be good and the drive is always fun. Should be enough cars to ride along in.

 Official Spring Karting 2015 3/29/15
Posted by: rherold9 - 02-03-2015, 11:22 PM - Forum: Events - Replies (119)

Karting will be on March 29th at G-Force. They could not book us on the 28th at all... As usual arrive at 9:30am. Karting starts at 10am. We will be car pooling from the R1 lot if you are a current student and can't drive or don't have a car here!

Deposit of 50% will be put down soon. It will be $1600 for the 2 hour endurance race. Right now we have around $1200 in the MM account. We really don't want to raise prices but we will be doing so. Yes, the prices are still discounted. But, we also believe it is necessary to keep MM profitable as possible so whoever has office next year will have a good amount to work with and hopefully be able to do some more fun events than we have or even in future years. Every year funds are always worried about and we want to start changing that worry.

We only had around 25 people show up last year and we are hoping we can get more this year!

Prices are a $5 increase:

Almuni - $45
Students - $35

Payment can be sent by PayPal to madisonmotorsports@gmail.com and if you need another way to pay please let us know! Paid will be marked in red.

Students List:
1. Taylor Johnson

Possible Housing for Spring '15 Show
Posted by: interfooler - 02-02-2015, 01:42 PM - Forum: Campus Events - Replies (5)

Posting this super early just so things can be figured out ahead of time, and not last minute:

If the show gets approved for 4/11 and with the autocross in Verona on the 12th, would anyone be able to house some people possibly Friday night and definitely Saturday night? My girlfriend and I both would like to go, but coming from Blacksburg/Roanoke is a bit of a drive, especially two days in a row. That being said, we can be adults, so no, we will not defile anything you own; we just would like a place to set up base camp  . Also, I may have another friend that would be interested in coming as well.

I've done this in the past for a few shows, but did not stay with MM last year. I figured you guys might have a party or some event Friday night or Saturday night? We would like to be social as well, if there's anything going on, haha.

Cliff notes:
Would like housing for 2, maybe 3 people
Staying Friday night is tentative
Staying Saturday night is a definite
Couches preferred, but we can bring an air mattress if needed.
Would need space to park a car safely and legally
Will pay back in beer or food.

Thanks!!

 Spring Apparel Order '15
Posted by: Riice Cooker - 01-31-2015, 03:13 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (86)

Hey everyone, it's time for the spring apparel order. Here is what is available this year along with the prices.

Beanie- $9
Raincoat- $32
Quarterzip- $25
Normal Sweatshirt- $24
Full zip sweatshirt- $32
Sweatpants- $19 minimum of 12

Everything is embroidered with the MM logo and therefore has no minimum except for the sweatpants. The sweatpants like the JMU sweatpants, if you've seen them, will have Madison Motorsports ironed on to the side. We need to buy at least 12 pairs of those if we want to get them.

I'm hoping to put the order in around mid February so please get your order in as soon as you can. You can place an order here, text me at 703-919-5922, fb message me, my name is Anthony Manno for those of you who don't know, or any other way you can think of contacting me.

You can pay via paypal or by giving me money whichever is more convenient for you.

 1995 Mustang SVT Cobra
Posted by: 95SVTCobra - 01-29-2015, 02:20 AM - Forum: Member's Projects - Replies (139)

Alright, I finally decided to make a build thread, as I have a few future plans for the car Big Grin . So a little background, it is a 1995 Mustang Cobra, which means it was the last year of the 5.0 motor. I bought the car completely stock with around 38k miles on it, and it currently (sitting in the garage covered) has 52k. I have done a few things to the car so far, mostly to bring down the 4x4 stock ride height and increase the volume  . So here it goes (as she sits now):

-Magnaflow Maganapack Catback
-BBK Off-Road X Pipe
-BBK Chrome Longtube Headers
-Steeda Tri-Ax Short Throw Shifter
-H&R Supersport Springs w/ ISOs
-KYB AGX Adjustable Shocks and Struts
-J&M Caster Camber Plates
-Painted Cobra Calipers
-LED Dash Light Upgrade
-Alpine CDE-143BT Headunit

Here are some pictures as it sits now:

I have some plans for Spring Break, as I am planning on getting it and bringing it up here to JMU for the car show, along with perhaps a few more buddies with some sweet Mustangs. These plans are listed below:

Future Plans Before MM Show
-Buy a car bra (okay stick with me here, I hate them. I just want them for trips to and from Harrisonburg, and to Mustang Week over the summer; lol rock chips are not my friend)
-Put dust boots on struts (old ones wouldn't fit, had to order some)
-Remove spring ISOs for another 1/4" to 1/2" of drop
-Straighten tailpipes, and get speakers wired right
-Paint mirrors...? (Rio Red- opinions?)

After MM Show/ Before Mustang Week
-Wheels and Tires (18" Chrome Saleens w/ staggered setup- NITTO NT555 285's out back and 265's up front)
-Tint 35%
-Slotted Rotors
-Cobra R Hood
-"COBRA" Rear Bumper
-Cold Air Intake with a bigger MAF Sensor
-Throttle Body

Down The Road
-Rear gears (3.55 or 3.73- debating on)
-Dyno Chip Tune (OBDI needs a chip)
-Boost? Cam? Heads? Ported Stock upper and lower? :dunno:

BTW, yes it does roar now lol

I love this car, especially feel close to it because my dad has a 1995 Cobra Convertible that he bought brand new in 1994, with 4 original miles on it (his is 1 of 499). It now has 22k on it, and actually won a car show just a couple months ago. He has taught me all I know about taking care of the car, and maintaining it. Here is a pic:

Finally, I'll leave this intro with a little photoshoot with my friends (who, if you can't tell, like mustangs too :thumbupSmile

MM Spring Schedule (New Almost Finished Draft)
Posted by: rherold9 - 01-28-2015, 11:15 PM - Forum: Events - Replies (27)

Thought I'd share a quick draft of a possible spring schedule. Thoughts on dates, things that are missing, what needs to fixed, etc... This is in no way a final schedule but it gives a good idea of how the semester can/will go.

 Wednesday Meeting/Students Free?
Posted by: V1GiLaNtE - 01-27-2015, 01:17 PM - Forum: Campus Events - Replies (5)

Is there a meeting this Wednesday or any students want to grab dinner? I will likely be at JMU with Deloitte giving some presentations in the late afternoon until 5pm.
