Giving MM a shot at this before I go to the masses.

I am the 3rd owner.

Car is a solid 8/10. Second owner had any and all service done by Stohlman Subaru in Vienna, Va. He purchased the car from the 1st owner in 2007 with roughly ~40k on the vehicle. The car came with a Borla "Hush" Series catback and he has spent more than the value of the car in meticulous maintenance for 60k, 90k (timing belt and water pump components), Oil changes, inspections, etc. all done at the dealership. I have documented service records to which provide all of the above history.

Clean example of a bugeye WRX with its well documented service history, color and practically stock mechanicals. Given the extent of the maintenance I have only had to change the oil on the car. This was performed at 110,737 and 114,720 with an OEM Subaru filter and Rotella T6 Synthetic 5w-40. I did not plan any major service until the 120k mark which would have consisted of spark plugs and Redline fluid change in the transmission and differentials.

On 03/05/2015 I installed a brand new set of tires (Kumho PA31) and received a fresh inspection sticker (3/16)

The interior of the car is in fantastic shape. No rips or tears in the seats. The floor mats are a little worn but no "heel holes" in the driver mat. The trunk area has some stains (it's a grocery getter) and the rest of the car is in great shape.

The exterior is in great shape as well. It has a few dings and scuffs given its life in the Northern Virginia area but nothing you would be instantly drawn too. Not a single speck of rust on the vehicle. The previous owner provided documents from a local body shop (Falls Church Auto Body, LTD) where in June 2012 the rear bumper cover was "hit" in parking lot incident. No mechanical damage was assessed but an insurance claim was filed for the incident so technically they are considered "accidents". This is represented on the Carfax report.

The engine bay is clean and no leaks exist. Motor pulls strong and boost is great.

I purchased a set of OEM Subaru cross-bars as I was eventually going to add a bike rack to the vehicle so the bars will be included.

I also added a set of Flapatax Mudflaps to the vehicle.

Anyone know of any shops or people who rents good track cars for track day/hpde use for reasonable monies?

Im pondering a track day or 2 this year and Id rather not spend the time/money/risk on my Exige.

Ideally would be something not a miata. Been there, done that

Before the Silveraydo:
During the period of having my learners and early license I mainly drove my mom's Accord while only the SE 4 cylinder it was still fun to push to its limits and push to the 120mph tap out.


Next we found a 92 ranger which I drove for about a year before needing the bigger vehicle for the landscaping work I did.

-Tires was probably going to get B.F. Goodrich similar to the ones we put on the ranger but size is undecided


What the future holds?
After peer pressure and research myself the future could hold me purchasing a cheap Miata like Taylor Johnson is currently trying to do for auto cross and to play around in but the truck is the first priority.

Since I can't justify posting another busted miata in the cool cars for sale, I decided to give Taylor his own thread.

Given the thread was posted and deleted in the span of several hours last week, figured I'd keep it posted for the sake of perspective, for those who are running for this next year's leadership roles.

I'm sure you all know me by now, so I suppose I'll skip the regular bio.

Being President this last year certainly had a learning curve, but there was definitely some things we worked on from the previous year. The biggest thing we struggled with, was the car show. Which while it isn't an excuse, none of the officers had any experience with getting done, and the fact that it was just 3 of us to get everything done with (oh and also Dr. Borg was on leave for spring semester, which also didn't help). However, with all that being said, now I know exactly what to do, and when to get it done. Having me be president a second year in a row would drastically cut down on the learning what to do, who to call/talk to, and when to do it. That alone will fix 80% of what was we struggled with this year, and yes I know about Jake's "How to" document but if I'm not mistake only like 1 of the JMU employee's on the list is still relevant and in that position, plus all of offices have been moved around with the creation of the Student Success Center. Overall I'd be able to make the car show much more professional next year, real prizes, bigger attendance, more sponsors and bringing back things like the truck ramp and the sound lab which were unable to make it due to scheduling conflicts.

Another point I'd like to touch on is finances. Starting this year the MM account balance was nearly $0, and with the choices we've made as officers with events, sales, apparel, etc.. we should be leaving the MM account with almost $600. So I believe that would make us the most profitable officers in quite a few years, when you also consider we still ran the MM garage this year which cost $700~ish. So I'd say that is a huge win for us, making it drastically easier on the next group of officers, and with me leading the team I would expect to only finish even stronger. So basically what this means is, possibly cheaper karting, possibly karting twice!? and other events in general along with more apparel, etc.

For events, if I'm not mistake I believe Ray informed me that this past College solo was the largest ever for registered drivers, so while back in MM prime we may have had more bystanders, but this past year we had the most DRIVERS! Which of course I plan on only continue to grow upon. Also I'd really like to get attendance up to track days, and I felt like we had a pretty strong presence at the fall VIR event, but then after that it fell apart due to everyone being busy for the weekends of NASA days. I was also really busy this past year with going through COB 300(well actually all 3 of the officers did). So I plan on being more free this coming year, and with a full set of 4 officers we should be able to make a stronger presence and also rent buses again as Taylor has volunteered to be the DD bus driver for next year. For meetings I'm a huge proponent for parking lot meets more often instead of classroom meets, as no one is ever a fan of classroom meets (except alumni who randomly drop in, because then it's easy to know where we are) but classroom meets have always been a necessary evil. So cutting those meets in half with parking lot meets is a great idea.

Also I'd just like to note that I originally had no intentions of running for president again this year, although having been asked by several current students to run again as they felt it would be best for MM, I agreed to run. I'm only running to do what's best for MM, so if the general consensus is for someone else to be president then that's fine by me. I'm just trying to lend my time (only 6 classes from graduation and splitting them up for 3/3) and my extensive knowledge of MM as I've been very active since my very first klines meet as a freshmen and have been in the club as long as one can practically be for an undergrad.

i have no idea what its like to watch a small home drive around VIR in a hurricane of diesel noise, but here's your chance.

My first car:
So after thrashing on my mustang (will be receiving its own thread soon :wink: ) for 2+ years so i would be able to drive it to high school, costs and availability of a quality paint job put that project on hold...


So I bought this: 1990 Corvette, 5.7l l98 v8, automatic, 53,000 miles when purchased, $5,000.





Mods:

Although i haven't done any performance mods to my car besides a flow master exhaust and putting in K&N filters, i have installed a full sound system:



First i went with JL audio 5x7" coaxials in the stock rear locations and JL audio 5.25" components in the front with dome tweeters in the doors, powered by a Kenwood KAC-749s putting about 40w rms to the mids and high.

Then i got this:





Sundown Audio SA-12 powered by a Sundown SAZ-1000d @ 2 ohms seeing about 650w rms
All stinger 4 gauge ofc wire







Custom box, 1.75 cubic feet @ 32hz
Box has received carpet since then and is screwed in so i don't get decapitated, wiring has also been tucked
